“I’d help, but what can I do?” We’ve all heard that before. Usually it’s followed by something like, “I’m only one person.” And you know what, they are right. We are each one soul encased in a body – one body that can make a difference. I may not have a lot of money to donate but I do have some time. Giving an hour away to help someone doesn’t cost me much, and may not seem significant, but it is. Each tiny kindness, each small act builds on the next. If each and every one of us just did a little tiny bit a great deal of good would be wrapped around this aching world.
Everywhere I look, I see need. People are hurting. People are going without. People feel alone. Give away a smile. Offer a kind word. Donate a dollar. Feel the possibilities around you, and make your small corner of the world a better place to be. Each corner expands, bumping into the next. Before you know it, the universe will be sparkling with love and gratitude.
Ask yourself, “What can I do?” Then go out and do it. I dare you.
